Undefeated St. Augustine edged past American Heritage in a close vote to remain the No. 1 team in Class 4A for the second consecutive week.

There was very little movement by local teams in the New York State Sportswriters Association’s football rankings this week.

Class 4A has its sixth change at the top of the poll this season. American Heritage edges St. Augistine by one vote in the latest poll.

The top spot in Class 4A changes hands for the seventh time this season, while six of the eight classes have unanimous No. 1 selections.
